SAT Practice Essay - Use Student Samples to Help Improve Your Scores
SAT Practice Essay - Use Student Samples to Help Improve Your ScoresWhen preparing for the SAT practice exam, the number one tool is a set of SAT practice essays. This type of essay is one of the most important parts of the exam. It gives you a great foundation for the rest of the exam. And it also gives you the chance to practice the style and content of the exam by using a set of multiple essay samples that are prewritten and prepared specifically for this type of exam.First of all, before writing any of the student samples, make sure you are in a comfortable state of mind. I cannot stress this enough. The reason that many people do not get good SAT scores is because they become too nervous to write and realize that they will never do so well on the exam if they are tense or anxious.Because it is so important to be relaxed when writing an SAT practice essay, do not try to think about your essay until after you have started. If you write in your mind or begin to overthink your writi ng, you will likely find that you will only be thinking about what you did wrong instead of what you did right. Just write and you will find that this part of the exam is easier than you would think. The other key to writing well when using SAT practice essays is to always keep your tone positive. If you give off a negative attitude you will fail miserably at this task. But you can also give off a positive attitude and still know that you will not write as well as you should. And that's fine because you will still do well!Keep in mind that when you use a set of SAT student samples, you are not just writing the essay. You are filling out an application for admission to one of the best colleges in the nation. And the sample essays you are given are exactly that: examples of how to write that application.Essays for applications are different than essays that are designed for the SAT. They tend to be more detail oriented, rather than being primarily about a particular topic. They can als o take you into a number of different topics including personal anecdotes and experiences that you may have had, your job experience, or even how you learned about college.Use these student samples to come up with your own writing style. Remember, the goal is to get your essay finished as quickly as possible. Don't worry about finishing it well or coming up with a great piece of writing; it is the opposite of having a great piece of writing. As long as you are using these student samples for your SAT practice essays, you will be able to give them the full benefit of the written word. And you will have the time to improve your SAT score by taking the time to practice as well!
